Wednesday, August 20, 2008

BALTIMORE —  A small plane skidded off a runway during takeoff at the Baltimore international airport, but no one was injured.

Four people were on the little plane that slid into a grassy area on departure about 12:35 p.m. Wednesday, said Cheryl Stewart, a spokeswoman for Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

Fire and rescue crews responded to the Cessna 441 accident, but there was no fire, according to Stewart.

She said the incident was not disrupting commercial passenger service at the airport.
