Greg Burke

Greg Burke has served as a correspondent for FOX News Channel (FNC) based in Rome, Italy since joining the network in October 2001. Most recently, Burke provided on-site coverage during the crisis in the Middle East. He also covered the labor law protests in France, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon’s hospitalization in Jerusalem and the terrorist attacks in London. He led the network’s coverage of Pope John Paul II’s sickness and reported on his death and the election of Pope Benedict XVI.

During his tenure at the network, Burke covered the sex abuse crisis in the Catholic church, the Pope’s travels, the March 11th terrorist train bombings in Madrid, the Intifada in Jerusalem, Slobodan Miloševic’s war crimes trial, Mt. Etna’s eruption, and the United Nations arms inspectors’ conference in Vienna.

Burke joined FNC from TIME Magazine where he also served as a Rome correspondent from 1994-2001. In addition, he reported for Reuters in Rome on such subjects as politics, sports and religion in 1993-94. Burke began his career at United Press International where he served as an editor and reporter for both broadcast and print.

Burke is a graduate of Columbia University's School of Journalism.
