Belmont beats Tennessee State 91-63

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Matthew Dotson scored a game-high 21 points to lead Belmont to a 91-63 rout of in-town rival Tennessee State on Monday night.
Dotson was also 5-for-9 from 3-point range for the Bruins (2-2), who shot 48.5 percent (32 of 66) from the field in the game in the win. Shane Dansby added 14 points and Andy Wicke chipped in with 12.
The Bruins hit 13 3-pointers in the game compared to two from the Tigers (2-3).
Jerrell Houston led the Tigers with 17 points, Darius Cox added 11 and a game-high eight rebounds and Gerald Robinson Jr. scored 10. The Tigers shot 39 percent (23 of 59) from the field in defeat.
The Bruins dished out 21 assists compared to seven by the Tigers, and Belmont capitalized on 19 turnovers en route to victory.
